Maejima Slaps 5 Hits
Friday, July 19th , 2052
The Panama City Piranhas stopped the Colorado Billy Goats by a score of 6-5 at The Tank today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Koryusai Maejima. The 31-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Maejima said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Maejima did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Billy Goats.
"Not much that I can say," offered Colorado manager Mack Kilkeary. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Koryusai Maejima singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Maejima is swinging at a .306 pace on the year with 4 home runs, 23 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has played in 61 games.
