John Helms Wins MVP Trophy

John Helms took USPL Single A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 23.
For his spectacular campaign, the Cut Off Crawdads star has been named the 2052 USPL Single A Outstanding Hitter Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the shortstop.
On the season he compiled a .271 batting average to go with a .358 on-base percentage. The native of Urbandale, Iowa also added 17 doubles, no triples, 10 home runs, 33 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 10. Melvin Morgan of the South Beach Blaze finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Yoon-tae Ch'ae of the Athletic Club KC U-24 finished third.
