Smoky Mountain Held Hitless by Collins
Sunday, July 28th , 2052
Is it better to be lucky or good?
After leading the Delmarva Gallos to victory, 3-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, Kris Collins didn't have the answer.
"I don't know," Collins said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both."
On his big day at Smokies Stadium, Collins fanned 10 and had 2 walks. And it seemed that when the Hobeaus managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender.
"That's how you get a no-hitter," Collins said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."
To date this year, Collins shows a 4-4 record, 12 starts, 74 innings, 79 strikeouts and a 2.19 ERA.
