Rocketeers Lose to Lakers in Walk Off
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Echo Park Lakers had to overcome a fine effort from Seattle pitcher Howard Randolph to grab a narrow 4-2 win at LA Forum. Randolph went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Echo Park reliever Eddie Walden picked up the win, raising his record to 4-0. Carlos Sainz was tagged with the loss.
Leonardo Valdéz was the walk-off hero for Echo Park. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lakers third baseman hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Valdéz said.
Echo Park, with the win, sits at 27-64.
