Ellicott, South Beach Open R1 Strong with 10-1 Win
The South Beach Blaze got a strong 5 innings from right-hander Aaron Ellicott today to take Game 1 of the PL A Championship from the Delmarva Gallos. Ellicott held the Gallos to no runs on 5 strong innings. The Blaze took the game by a score of 10-1 and now lead the best-of-3 series, 1-0.

The Blaze benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the second. With Noel Higgins at bat and South Beach leading 1-0, the Delmarva miscue allowed South Beach to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"Things broke our way today and that's great," Blaze manager Vicente Rodríguez said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark on the Beach in South Beach.
