Shredders Roll to 8-3 Win Over Lakers
|
The MSL Hollywood Shredders beat the MSL Echo Park Lakers, 8-3, at MSL Hollywood Ballpark. Mitsuo Suzuki went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The 17-year old left fielder was a menace to MSL Echo Park all day. Picking up the win was Tom Ward. He went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 0. The 7th-place Shredders are now 14-17, the Lakers 11-20.
Suzuki contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for MSL Hollywood in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Suzuki took a fastball from Ryuzaburo Kawano and stroked the home run to right-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Shredders to leap in front, 4-2.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Suzuki told the MSL Hollywood Today.
