Piranhas Earn 8-5 Win Against Cattlemen
|
The MSL Panama City Piranhas weathered an outstanding game by MSL Ft. Worth designated hitter Gordon Lee to topple the Cattlemen, 8-5. Lee went 4-6 with 4 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. MSL Panama City reliever Raúl Ramírez picked up the win to move to 1-0. Sebastian Mumbya suffered the loss. With the win, MSL Panama City pushed its record to 20-9.
MSL Panama City used the clutch hitting of Alfonso Reyes to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the 17th inning to give the Piranhas the lead, 8-5. For the game, Reyes had 1 single and 1 double in 8 at-bats.
"Other than the game," said Reyes, "we haven't won anything yet."
