Montana and Ft. Worth duked it out and the Pandas came out victorious.
The Montana Pandas picked up a win at The Cattle Pen, knocking off the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 6-3. Starting pitcher Fernando Ríos played a key role in the triumph. Ríos went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-4. Jeffery Meyers nailed down his 26th save.
The Cattlemen had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Pandas going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 34-year old right fielder Lung Chaim came to the plate. Chaim hit a bases-clearing double on a full count cutter from Ft. Worth hurler Luke Corner. It was Chaim's 3rd double of the year.
Ríos called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
The Pandas, at 46-21, lead by one game in their division.
