Long Island got a decent performance from pitcher Manuel Martínez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Las Vegas Flamingos. Las Vegas won the The Lighthouse contest, 6-2. Martínez threw 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Las Vegas is now 30-36, Long Island 26-40.

Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Sergio Valentín to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We looked pretty good up and down," said Las Vegas manager Tom Williams.
