Northern Lions BC Beat MSL Kingston Township, 2-1

The MSL Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC picked up a win at MSL Kingston Township Ballpark, taking down the MSL Kingston Township Knights, 2-1. Starting pitcher Alejandro Gutiérrez was a big reason why. MSL Thunder Bay pitcher Mitsuharu Nomura got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tan-ming Ba got the loss. The Northern Lions BC raised their record to 16-27.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Víctor Díaz's at-bat in the top of the eighth was vitally important. With one out, the MSL Thunder Bay catcher hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"It's a mindset," said Gutiérrez. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
