Knights Get Close Win Over Divided, 2-1
|
The Knights faced a stiff challenge from MSL D.C. pitcher Will Rogers, but persevered to claim a win at MSL Kingston Township Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Rogers went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. José Guevara recorded the save for MSL Kingston Township, his 1st of the season. MSL Kingston Township is now 16-26, while MSL D.C. is 24-18.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Knights sent teenager Hen-to Hsia to the plate against Divided hurler Will Rogers. With runners on 1st and 3rd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch curveball to score 1.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" MSL Kingston Township manager Dan Taylor said.
