Piranhas Stop Lakers, 5-2
|
Panama City Piranhas starter Dan Dunn turned in a top-notch performance against the Echo Park Lakers at LA Forum. The result was a win for the Piranhas, 5-2. Dunn got the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Dunn allowed 2 runs. Jeffrey Strickland closed the game out for Panama City, earning his 3rd save.
Panama City used the timely hitting of Dwayne Foll to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Piranhas on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We've got a great group of guys," Foll said, "and we're having fun right now."
Panama City is sitting pretty at 44-21.
