Shredders Rally For 6-4 Win
|
The Hollywood Shredders took Seattle pitcher Ron Mora's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Hollywood Bowl. The final score had Hollywood getting past the Rocketeers, 6-4. Mora went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. Casey Ball, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Bobby Taylor collected save number 21.
The Shredders got a big hit from third baseman Richard Marshall. In the bottom of the eighth, Marshall smacked a bases-clearing double off Seattle pitcher Ernesto Bañuelos. It was his 19th double of the season. Suddenly, the Shredders were ahead, 6-4.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Marshall.
Hollywood is third in the Silver League with a record of 41-22.
