Pandas Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Montana Pandas did just enough to sneak past the Long Island Lighthouse, 5-4, at Panda Park. Montana pitcher Jay Newton, in particular, had a standout performance. The Pandas, at 44-19, sit in first place in the Silver League.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when shortstop Sayed Walid stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"Our team showed some gumption," said Walid. "I like it."
