Pandas Best Lighthouse in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight affair between the Montana Pandas and the Long Island Lighthouse, pitcher Lewis Thompson was in the zone. The Montana right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Todd Jackson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 6-2. Jeffery Meyers was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 24 of 28 save opportunities.
Sayed Walid drove in one run for Montana. The 13-year veteran had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Manuel Martínez. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Thompson said.
With the win, Montana pushed its record to 42-19.
