U-18 Clip Dirty Reds, 3-2

The MSL Athletic Club KC U-18 eked out a 3-2 win versus the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds at MSL ACKC Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher José Rivas. He was terrific. Ernesto Bernal, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save. The current losing streak for MSL San Mateo has reached 5 games.
The Dirty Reds had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the U-18 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old shortstop Ni Xú came to the plate. Xú hit a solo home run on a 1-0 fastball from MSL San Mateo hurler Vincente Álvarez. It was Xú's 9th home run of the year.
"José was pounding the zone," said MSL Athletic Club KC manager Gil Schmidt.
