The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers defeated the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds, 3-1, at MSL San Mateo Ballpark today. Leading the charge for MSL Pittsburgh was designated hitter José Sandoval. He threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 runs. Sandoval got the win, improving to 4-4. He allowed 8 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. Sandoval allowed 1 run. John Oram earned the save, his 3rd, for the Kingfishers.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Scott Danior? The MSL Pittsburgh second baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 2-0. For the game, Danior had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Danior told the MSL Pittsburgh Chronicle. "Whatever it takes."
The Kingfishers saw their record improve to 26-18.
