Pandas Stick Piranhas with 6-0 Loss
|
Montana Pandas starter Lewis Thompson pitched his team past the Panama City Piranhas, 6-0. Getting the save was Bertrand Scotton, his 2nd. At 39-18, Montana is in second place in the Silver League.
Montana used the clutch hitting of François Khalifa to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pandas ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"The more wins we pile up," said Thompson, "the more I like our chances."
