Kingfishers Score 6-3 Win Against MSL Mississippi
|
The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers topped the MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds, 6-3, the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Roger Miller. On the day, Miller was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Kingfishers. Sixto Muñóz picked up the win in relief for MSL Pittsburgh, while Ron Cox took the loss. With the win, the Kingfishers hiked their record to 17-10.
Miller had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-0 sinker from Jose Sánchez, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Kingfishers a 6-3 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Miller.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Miller.
