Pérez Paces Voodoo to 4-1 Win
|
José Pérez never let MSL San Mateo get something going. The MSL New Orleans right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Voodoo to a 4-1 win. Kunisada Osawa collected his 1st save. At 15-8, the Voodoo find themselves in first place in the PL MSL.
The standout performance belonged to 17-year-old Pérez. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Voodoo. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Dirty Reds, striking out 9 and scattering 3 hits over 7.2 innings. Pérez is now 6-2 on the season.
"José is tough when he's hitting his spots," said MSL New Orleans manager Don Skerrett.
