The MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers went down to defeat to Ramiro García and his MSL Athletic Club KC teammates. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the U-18. García, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 3 walks. MSL Athletic Club KC has a record of 7-8, placing them 8th in the PL MSL.
MSL Athletic Club KC shortstop Xiao-yong Liu contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the U-18 ahead, 2-0.
"Both teams played hard," said MSL Athletic Club KC manager Gil Schmidt.
