A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds and MSL Oakland Oaks.

The MSL San Mateo Dirty Reds picked up a win at MSL Oakland Ballpark, taking down the MSL Oakland Oaks, 7-3. Starting pitcher Germán Reyes was a big reason why. Reyes, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run.

The Oaks had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Dirty Reds going into the top of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 17-year old left fielder Jayden Thompson came to the plate. Thompson hit a 2-run home run on a first pitch fastball from MSL Oakland hurler Rafael Balahadia. It was Thompson's 1st home run of the year.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Thompson.

With the loss, MSL Oakland sinks to 2-1.
