Floundering Ducks Lose 6th Straight
|
Tulsa and Long Island duked it out and the Otters came out victorious.
Tulsa starter Marc Clemow pitched well against the Long Island Ducks at Ducks Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Clemow picked up the win for Tulsa, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-1. Phil Chamings earned his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Tulsa used the clutch hitting of Ron Hayden to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Otters ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"Marc was able to execute his pitches," said Tulsa manager Ben Cooper. "Simple as that."
The Ducks, at 54-40, have lost 6 in a row.
