Beavers Squelch Snowpeople Offense in Shutout Win
|
In a tight game between the Northwest Territory Beavers and the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, pitcher Andrés Hernández was terrific on the mound. The Northwest Territory left-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. In 7 innings, Hernández surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. Getting the save was Víctor Rivera, his 3rd.
Harlan Lee was 1 for 3 with a walk for Northwest Territory. The 19-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ánibal Correa. It was his 17th walk of the season.
Hernández said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
Northwest Territory has a record of 51-41, placing them third in the Menard's Low A.
