Red-Hot Octopi Win 7th Straight
|
The Ogallala Octopi overcame a fine performance by Tulsa right fielder Ed Ward to defeat the Otters, 6-4, at Ballpark of Hughesville. Ward went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. The win puts Ogallala at 51-30 this season.
Ogallala shortstop Joe Allison produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the eighth with Lucas Lancaster on the mound and Ogallala leading 5-4. Allison drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
In postgame comments, Allison told the Ogallala Herald: "Do people still doubt I give 100 percent?"
