Snowpeople CF Montoya goes 3-for-4 in Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from left fielder Ángel Montoya, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A- in doubles with 17, led the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople to a win over the Greenport Harbor Whales, 5-2. Ellesmere Island pitcher Charlie MacGibbon got the win. He's now 5-7. Alistair Mossop was tagged with the loss. The save was credited to Tristan Liefting, his 21st.
Ellesmere Island took a 5-0 lead on Montoya's 17th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Qing-hua Du in the top of the sixth, propelled Ellesmere Island to the win.
"I really like what we did out there today," Montoya said after the game.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Ellesmere Island.
