Octopi Get Past Capital Hill for 2-1 Win
|
In a tight game between the Ogallala Octopi and the Capital Hill Interns, pitcher Darien Chalmers was terrific on the mound. The Ogallala right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. The 10th-place Interns have lost 4 consecutive games.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Eric Burns came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Capital Hill pitcher Cheslav Adaikin, he hit a 1-0 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ogallala on top, 2-1.
"Darien was pounding the zone," said Ogallala manager Félix Cruz.
