Flint starter Chris Morris put a stranglehold on the Greenport offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Crush to a 3-1 win. Salvador Martínez recorded his 2nd save for Flint. The 8th-place Crush raised their record to 37-37.
William Collins, who is tied for 6th in the 3A- with a .927 OPS, chipped in for Flint with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Greenport skipper Mark Tillman, "and it cost us."
