Rams Snatch Late Win
|
The Ogallala Octopi wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter Dylan Snider, falling 2-0 to the Ladue Rams at Nebraska Aquarium. Lex Boon was credited with the save for Ladue, his 7th of the season. The last-place Rams improved to 13-24.
Ladue used the clutch hitting of Melvin Williams to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rams ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We take it day by day here," said Williams, "and today was a good one for us."
