Interns Knock Off Rams at Alouettes Ballpark
|
The Capital Hill Interns picked up a win at Alouettes Ballpark, taking down the Ladue Rams, 3-2. Starting pitcher Les King was a big reason why. In 6 innings, King surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run. At 11-22, the Interns claim 11th place in the Menard's Low A.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Interns sent 17-year-old second baseman Joaquín Rodríguez to the plate with a runner on 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Capital Hill on top, 3-1.
"We found a way to get it done," Rodríguez said.
