Francisco Cortés pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, despite Cortés's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Ogallala Octopi at Nebraska Aquarium. Steve Stevens earned the win for Ogallala. He lasted 5 innings, allowing no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. The 'W' lifts Ogallala's record to 21-9.

The Octopi got a lift from left fielder Geoffrey Adams, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Octopi on top, 1-0.
