Skidding Uruguayans Lose 11th Straight
|
A good performance from second baseman Luis López helped the Amarillo Warheads defeat the Germantown Uruguayans, 5-4. López was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Warheads. The losses continue to add up for Germantown, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Amarillo third baseman Víctor Senas, facing Victor Doubleday, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Warheads the 5-4 win.
"Both teams played hard," said Amarillo manager Armentario Holguin.
