Leonard Leads Surprise Past Amarillo
|
Surprise starter Al Leonard put a stranglehold on the Amarillo offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Shockers to a 3-1 win. Surprise now sits at 43-50, while Amarillo falls to 41-52.
It was an impressive outing from the soft-spoken Leonard, who tallied 10 strikeouts in 7.2 innings and allowed only 3 hits. Leonard, who is tied for 2nd in the SA- with a 14 quality starts, raised his record to 7-6 on the year with 153 strikeouts.
"A great game, a great day," said Leonard about the win. "I can't complain."
