Loss to Rhinos Extends Germantown Losing Streak
|
The Redwood Rhinos and Germantown Uruguayans put on a pitchers' duel.
Germantown got a terrific performance from pitcher Luis García, but it wasn't enough to beat the Redwood Rhinos. Redwood won the The Zoo contest, 2-1. García threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Chris Evans was credited with the save for Redwood, his 14th of the season.
Manny Marrero drove in one run for Redwood. In the bottom of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Marrero delivered for the Rhinos. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Redwood on top, 2-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Germantown manager Luis Díaz. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The Rhinos now have a record of 24-67.
