Shockers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Rhinos
|
The Surprise Shockers topped the Redwood Rhinos, 6-5, with youngster Bob Stewart playing a key role. Stewart slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Shockers in the win. Jens van de Vlugt collected his 6th save. Surprise, at 39-43, holds down 7th place in the Silver Low A.
Stewart had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a full count fastball from Chris Evans, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Shockers a 6-5 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Stewart.
"It was a solid team effort," said Stewart after the game.
