Northwest Territory wasted an exceptional performance by designated hitter Mark Cunningham, falling to the Capital Hill Interns, 3-2. Cunningham threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Juan Velázquez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Dirk McIntyre closed the door for Capital Hill, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Capital Hill shortstop Er Wu delivered a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 1.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Wu said.
The Interns, with just their 4th win so far in 2052, have yet to catch fire.
