Benson Stars in 4-0 Interns Win
|
The Capital Hill Interns defeated the Northwest Territory Beavers, 4-0, at Alouettes Ballpark. Capital Hill designated hitter Travis Benson had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Capital Hill starter Jimmy Forbes was credited with the win after throwing 97 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The Interns have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 3rd win in 13 games.
Dave Wilson drove in one run for Capital Hill. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Philippe Fabre. It was his 4th RBI of the season.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Benson.
