The Surprise Shockers topped the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 2-1, in USSL Low A action at Shockers Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Surprise pitcher Akihito Okubo. The win belongs to Justin Allen in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Jermaine Seymour took the loss for Plattsburgh. Jens van de Vlugt nailed down his 4th save.
Jim Williams found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Plattsburgh hurler Jermaine Seymour, the 21-year-old pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly. His 23rd RBI of the season put the Shockers on top, 2-1.
"Runs were at a premium," said Surprise manager John Walls.
At 33-39, the Shockers claim 8th place in the Silver Low A.
