Rhinos Suffer 7-5 Setback

The Bompton Baby Lakers saddled the Redwood Rhinos with a loss at The Zoo. The final score was 7-5. Jorge González was 3 for 3, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Bompton left fielder scored 1 run and drove in 3. Bompton pitcher Yoshihide Ichikawa got the win. He's now 3-1. Angus Galloway was tagged with the loss. Michael Bowles got the save, the 3rd for him this season.
Bompton used the clutch hitting of António Gómez to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baby Lakers ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"A great game, a great day," said Gómez about the win. "I can't complain."
The Baby Lakers raised their record to 39-32.
