Snowpeople Take Nail-Biter Over Octopi

The Ellesmere Island Snowpeople turned back the Ogallala Octopi, 5-4, at The Igloo. Brian Neame, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Ellesmere Island reliever Tristan Liefting picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bill Anderson shouldered the loss. Ogallala falls to 8-3.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Ellesmere Island right fielder Gustavo Vásquez, facing Bill Anderson, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Snowpeople the 5-4 win.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Vásquez said.
