Germantown Beats Surprise, 5-4

The Germantown Uruguayans defeated the Surprise Shockers, 5-4, in USSL Low A action at Shockers Field. Germantown pitcher Han-soo Yang had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Yang, now 3-7. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Joey van der Beeck, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Germantown used the timely hitting of Jesús González to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"I know we have our doubters," said Surprise manager John Walls. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The Uruguayans raised their record to 25-38.
