Broekhuizen Swats 2 Homers, Piranhas Top Lakers, 11-3
|
The Panama City Piranhas topped the Echo Park Lakers by the score of 11-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Puck Broekhuizen. Broekhuizen belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Piranhas on the day. Dan Dunn picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 8 in 5.2 innings. The Lakers, at 8-32, have lost 13 straight games.
Broekhuizen contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Panama City get the win.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Jordan Calhoun. "But it's got to translate into wins."
