Shockers Cut Down Warheads, 3-1
|
The Surprise Shockers went home winners at Ballpark of Henderson, thanks in large part to starter Andy Slot. Slot stifled the Amarillo Warheads, enabling Surprise to grab the 3-1 win. Slot picked up the win for Surprise, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-9. At 25-34, the Shockers find themselves in 8th place in the Silver Low A.
Surprise used the timely hitting of Ludovic Devaux to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Shockers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
In postgame comments to the Surprise Herald, Devaux said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
