Surprise rode a fine outing from starter Al Leonard to victory over the Amarillo Warheads at Ballpark of Henderson. The final score was 4-1. Leonard, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Adrian Taylor finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Mitchell Bodkin, the 19-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bodkin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Surprise up, 2-1.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said Leonard.
The Shockers now have a mark of 24-34.
