The rain did not keep Northwest Territory and Ellesmere Island from finishing their game.

Northwest Territory Beavers starter Mark Cunningham was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 5-3. Northwest Territory pitcher Esam bin Ahmad got the win. He's now 2-0. Charlie MacGibbon was tagged with the loss. Fernando Bustamante was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.

In the bottom of the fifth, Dan Grimwood delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Northwest Territory shortstop hit a 2-run double, putting the Beavers in front, 5-3.

Grimwood said his team "played with focus."

At 6-1, the Beavers have played well so far.
