Rhinos Snag 3-2 Win
|
North Ft. Myers wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Silas Brown, falling to the Redwood Rhinos, 3-2. Brown threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Redwood reliever Bernardo Pérez picked up the win to move to 1-1. Luis Pizarro suffered the loss. With the win, the Rhinos have a record of 13-35.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Jorge Vallejo's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With two out, the Redwood right fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said North Ft. Myers manager David Ramírez, "let me know."
