Shockers Hang 5-2 Loss on Rhinos
|
The Surprise Shockers picked up a win at The Zoo, knocking off the Redwood Rhinos, 5-2. On the mound for Surprise was right-hander Marcos Carrillo, who played a pivotal role in the win. Carrillo went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-3. Surprise is now 14-18.
Surprise used the bat of Sam Peterson to capture the win. The pinch hitter jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shockers ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a dandy.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Carrillo said.
