Warheads Dump Baby Lakers, 6-5
|
The Amarillo Warheads stopped the Bompton Baby Lakers, 6-5, behind an impressive performance from Greg Harrington. The 19-year old first baseman made life miserable for Bompton pitching. He went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Xian-yao Huang earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 3-1. Wijnand Boone earned the save for Amarillo, his 8th of the year.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Harrington hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Warheads into the lead, 5-4.
"Feels good to get the job done," Harrington said after the game.
With the win, the Warheads improved to 13-17.
