Baby Lakers Down Warheads, 5-4
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers dealt the Amarillo Warheads a 5-4 loss at Ballpark of Henderson. Kenny Hamilton was the star on offense. He went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2. Picking up the win was Michael Temple. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 1. Bompton is third in the Silver Low A with a record of 18-11.
Bompton used a well-timed hit by Weiner Blau to capture the win. The catcher socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Baby Lakers ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I was a little disappointed," said Amarillo manager Armentario Holguin. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
