Maine right-hander Werner Payne helped his team edge Plattsburgh by the score of 3-2. Payne kept the opposing lineup in check. The winner was Mike Nichols in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Paul Stewart took the loss. Yoshi Suzuki closed it out for his 2nd save.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Jori Länsivuori came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Plattsburgh pitcher Paul Stewart, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Maine on top, 3-2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Maine manager Charles Wells.

The loss drops Plattsburgh to 8-8.
